Lucas - Bertha Myers Knight

Bertha S. Lucas, former Crawfordsville resident, died Wednesday in Riverview, Fla. Mrs. Lucas, 82, had lived there since her departure from Crawfordsville in 1954. She was affiliated with the Baptist Church. Born on Dec. 26, 1885 in Brown County, she was the daughter of David and Sarah Pittman Myers. She was first married to Bert Knight who died in 1930. In 1954 she was married to James Lucas of Wolcott, Ind. Mr. Lucas survives. Mrs. Lucas was reared in this community and graduated from Crawfordsville High School. Surviving besides the husband are a son, Walter T. Knight of Lafayette; a sister, Mabel Van Hook of Crawfordsville; several nieces and nephews, and several grandchildren. Services are pending at the Hunt & Son Funeral Home. – jlr
